Malia Savella is a 22 year-old artist from the Bay Area with a passion for both public education and visual art.

Malia has been drawing their entire life. Their interest in cartoons and graphic novels inspired a dream to work in animation. En route to this career path, they specialized in digital fan art. However, Malia gradually shifted away from this during high school, focusing instead on the intricacies of fine art. They now operate primarily as a gouache painter, but are also experienced in oil and watercolor paints. On occasion, they dabble in other traditional mediums.

Malia mostly makes art for their friends and family, but also eagerly takes commissions; they have designed logos, flyers and brochures for events and organizations. They were a visual editor at The Lutrinae, California State University, Monterey Bay’s (CSUMB) weekly-running school newspaper, from 2021 to 2023; they won second place for Best Illustration in the 2022 California College Media Awards. They have sold traditional and digital pieces upon request. Please see the contact page to request a commission or inquire about the purchase status of a piece.
